Oh my, that cake is absolutely gorgeous! Well done. I think this looks like a perfect party.
Thanks so much Jennifer! The kids had so much fun (and were very hyped up on sugar :)
Wonderful! Your rainbow piñata against the dark sky is stunning.
After all that rain it was nice to see a rainbow somewhere!
What a fantastic cake. I hope all that water's receded now and that things aren't too soggy. CJ xx
Thanks CJ! The water's gone down now and things are starting to dry out.
Wonderful, look at that view!xx N
We're pretty lucky to have it :)
It's pouring with rain here so this was just what I needed. Fabulous.
Hopefully the sunshine will find it's way back to you soon :)
How wonderful. That cakes looks amazing!
Thanks Kim. The kids had such fun!
Ok you've captured my imagination with the cake.... You'll have to do a separate post on the cake "how to" even if you think it's easy.... It looks awesome
Thanks Kathy! The cake came from one of the women's weekly birthday cake books. You just make a regular round cake, ice it and pile it up with lollies. Then you make a chocolate shell (I used an oiled stainless steel mixing bowl), by melting chocolate and covering the inside of the bowl. Put into the fridge until set. Turn it out over the top of the cake and cover with smarties or other lollies (with a little dob of melted chocolate). Give the birthday child a hammer and let them go at it to crack it open! So much fun!
We experienced our first flooding last weekend since moving to this neck of the woods and while we werent impacted at all its nice to see the sun again.
I know what you mean about seeing the sun again, we are grateful to see it again this week as well! Glad you managed to stay safe from the flood waters.
